Sunday Dec 2 meet in Jackson Square on Chartres Street just across from the St. Louis Cathedral Help NOLA Citizens Keep Jackson Square Open 24/7
Opponents of Mayor Landrieu's push to close the Jackson Square Pedestrian Mall from 1am to 5am have been meeting at 6pm on Mondays in Jackson Square on Chartres Street just across from the St. Louis Cathedral. Since its creation in 1975 the Jackson Pedestrian Mall has been open 24 hours a day. The Mayor is seeking an ordinance that would make it illegal for people to sit, stand, or hang out in the Jackson Square Pedestrian Mall from 1am to 5am. The Monday meetings have focused on building resistance to this attempt to criminalize "hanging out" on Jackson Square.
You can help! Join NOLA citizens and attend public City Council meeting. City Council’s Government Affairs Committee will be voting on the ordinances on Mon. Dec. 3rd at 10.
WHEN: Mon, December 3, 9:30am – 11:30am
